Field & container grown root over rock trident maple. This tree is in need of a repotting and soil refresh. It is getting root pruned and reduced into a shallower, wide container in more appropriate bonsai substrate. It will be wired into the new growing container and then have branches placed for the initial structure. Two or three more years with branch refinement and fertilization should help develop this nicely. YES.... you are correct, I am a bit late in this work as you can see from the new buds opening. However with the greenhouse and mild spring temps, these guys will be fine.
